Tucked just off the Cape Breton shoreline on the Cabot Trail where the Highlands meet the sea is a secret little gem few know about except locals and passersby “Dancing Goat Café And Bakery”. Here nestled in the Margaree Valley where fly fishermen spend hours looking to catch those big Atlantic salmon running up the Margaree River, the air is fresh and the pace is just a bit slower here. Not a question this is always my lunch destination when passing through. A little Café serving yummy sandwiches, fresh baked goods and desserts to tempt your indulgences. The smell inside never disappoints me and it’s always busy here as busy can be with a population of about 3000 and yes everyone knows your name. I always go for the Chicken sandwich with tarragon mayo. Fresh poached chicken on fresh baked bread and that tarragon mayo is divine. I have been known to take an extra for the road. I usually grab some baked goods for my Sister and hit the road. This part of Canada is one of my favorites.
It’s just a different world away from the hustle and bustle of life and you never know when you will run into a moose. I never take it for granted!
